Slab built vessel with nerikomi detail by Kai Yasui. Original red clay and sand mix stoneware woodfired at Ocean Ridge Kiln. This is a unique piece which has been glazed inside making it a functional vase. This artwork really is striking from every angle due to its multifaceted angular form and mountain landscape pattern. Here you can see Yasui-san was often influenced by the lines and geometry found in Art Deco design but also by his natural surroundings.
