Carved and hand molded teabowl with manganese glaze on black clay. This teabowl is inspired by rock formations and has an octagonal shaped tall foot. Tea bowls with a tall foot were traditionally used on horseback in Japan. The glaze is sparingly applied by brush on the outside to emphasise the rock like undulations in the form.
